Dr. Hem Sagar Rimal

Dr. Hem Sagar Rimal is a highly respected Senior Pediatrician and Medical Education Leader, currently serving as Head of the Department of Pediatrics and Head of Medical Education at Birat Medical College & Teaching Hospital, Biratnagar. With over three decades of clinical, academic, and leadership experience, he is recognized nationally and internationally for his contributions to child health and medical education. Dr. Rimal has received advanced training in developmental-behavioral pediatrics from the Royal Children’s Hospital, Melbourne, and is a FAIMER Fellow in Medical Education. He has held key leadership roles including Principal, Vice Principal, Acting Principal, and Senate Member of Kathmandu University, and has served in Australia, Nepal, and East Timor. A recipient of multiple prestigious awards, including gold medals from NEPAS and Tribhuvan University, Dr. Rimal is also an accomplished researcher with numerous peer-reviewed publications and international collaborations. He currently serves as Chief Editor of the Birat Journal of Health Sciences and President of NEPAS Provincial Chapter One, continuing to shape pediatric care and medical education in Nepal.
